In 2005, Grown Solutions owner, Jacob Slevkoff, set out to build a portable, vertical gardening trellis system that was unlike any other trellis that had come before it. The need was to build a product that would promote a thick, lush canopy that would 1) shade the scorching rays of the sun, 2) allow for growth in areas where no planting medium was present, and 3) be portable.

Numerous prototypes eventually gave way to the creation of the patent pending Hanging Garden Trellis -- a portable, self-contained, vertical gardening system that is suspended from either a patio, arbour or house.
